Holiday Family Portraits
Every year, just before Thanksgiving, the Chelsea Black Community (CBC) hosts its Annual Holiday Portrait Event, bringing families and individuals together for a day of joy and community connection. This beloved tradition offers free professional holiday portraits, along with warm drinks, festive music, and a chance to contribute to a local cause. The event has grown to become a cornerstone of CBC’s mission to strengthen bonds within the community, spreading holiday cheer while giving back to those in need.
Event Overview
The event provided an opportunity for families and individuals to have professional holiday portraits taken—completely free of charge. Typically, these high-quality photos would cost between $200 and $500, but CBC and United Way made them accessible to everyone in the community. Along with the photo sessions, attendees enjoyed warm hot chocolate, festive treats, and a cheerful soundtrack of holiday tunes that filled the air with a festive spirit.
Community Engagement
Participants were encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to local food pantries, helping to spread holiday goodwill throughout Chelsea. The event fostered a strong sense of togetherness while also promoting generosity and support for the wider community.
Looking Ahead
We are thrilled with the success of this event and plan to make it an annual tradition, capturing special holiday memories while supporting those in need. Thank you to all who participated and donated—we look forward to seeing you next year!
