YOUTH COMPUTER
PROGRAMMING BOOT CAMP
Bootcamp Recap
The Chelsea Black Community (CBC) proudly hosts its Annual Web Development Bootcamp, designed to empower young students with essential tech skills in web development. This high-impact program serves as an introduction to foundational programming languages, helping students build confidence in coding and opening pathways for future careers in technology.
About the Program
This course was created by a Grubhub employee and instructed by a former Reebok employee specializing in information systems. Designed as an introduction to foundational computer programming topics and technologies, the bootcamp focused on essential web development skills. The students learned how to use basic web programming languages—HTML, CSS, and JavaScript—to create and design their own websites and web applications. Through hands-on projects, they brought their creative ideas to life, culminating in fully functional websites.
Student Achievements
After participating in the program, the students now have a solid understanding of primary coding languages and are equipped with the confidence and resources to further deepen their coding knowledge. They are prepared to learn new programming languages and can access publicly available resources to support their ongoing growth in the tech field.
Looking Ahead
Building on this success, we are excited to expand the opportunity for more students to join us. Going forward, the Web Development Bootcamp will take place during public school vacations in February and April. This scheduling allows students to make productive use of their break by acquiring valuable skills that can shape their futures.
